Algorithmic Exclusion: How Data Deserts in the U.S. Perpetuate Inequality, panel event moderated by DeVan Hankerson

On Monday, March 25th 2019, the Tech Institute hosted a panel event, moderated by DeVan Hankerson about Algorithmic Exclusion: How Data Deserts in the U.S. Perpetuate Inequity. The event drew an important connection between the lack of connectivity for marginalized communities in rural and low income areas, and increasing concerns about bias in the algorithms that impact so many aspects of our lives. Thanks to our partners Public Knowledge and The Georgetown Institute of Technology Law & Policy for collaborating with us on this event.
